Deepika Mehta is one of India’s best-known Ashtanga Yoga teacher. Based out of Mumbai, Deepika Mehta started practicing yoga after a near-death accident while rock climbing. Her doctor had told her that she would never be able to walk again but she was ready to give up, not yet. And so, Deepika searched for an alternative approach to heal herself and found the ancient Indian practice of yoga. Deepika started training at the Sivananda Yoga Kendra in Kerala. She began practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 2002 under Guru Shri K Pattabhi Jois. She traveled deep into the spiritual world learning under different masters like Lino Miele, Richard Freeman and Rolf Naujokat from across the world. Presently, she is a student of Sharath Jois. She is a certified instructor with Vivekananda Yoga Kendra and Sivananda Yoga. Deepika is also has fitness trainer certification from the Stott Pilates Center, Reebok University and ACE (American Council of Exercise). Deepika Mehta has her own television show, Yoga City on NDTV Good Times. She is particularly well known among Bollywood celebrities and has consulted several A-list stars.

She was also part of the television reality show The Biggest Loser in India; she was the master trainer on the show.

Deepika Mehta was also featured in Vogue as one of the three women redefining India’s beauty ideals in 2014.
She has also been the face of Elle India’s fitness campaign for 2015.
