In an exclusive interview with India.com for our series InstaFamous, Larissa D’sa shares her journey, how she deals with social media trolling, how to stay relevant with changing algorithms, and a little sneak into her personal life.

Larissa started her journey of content creation when she was only 19. Larissa started creating content on YouTube and after that, she started posting on Instagram which started picking up slowly and gradually. Larissa was juggling between creating content and doing her full-time job as a Graphic Designer for 3 years. Slowly and gradually her YouTube also started picking and she thought of taking it up full time but before she could call it quits, she was fired, and that turned out to be a blessing in disguise for her. “It was a sign from god that you are not supposed to be taking orders from anyone”, She shares
Larissa started from creating content around DIY, lifestyle, and beauty and now she is more into traveling and lifestyle-specific content. Larissa truly believes in the theory that “Change is the only constant” and hence her content has also evolved and changed with time.
Larissa D’Sa’s passion for travel began in her childhood when her family would take biannual trips and she would go visit her ancestorial family. Larissa shares that even when she used to travel as a kid, she was always more excited about the journey than reaching the destination.

Talking about the evolution in the social media industry, Larissa shares all the good, bad, and ugly of this industry she has observed over the years. Larissa shared that now since every other person is creating content, there has been chaos on the internet. Larissa emphasizes that due to the trends and clickbait content, the quality of the content has somewhere been overshadowed. “Even as creators it can be frustrating when your Instagram or YouTube reach is not based on the quality of the content but the virality of it”, she shares. Larissa truly believes that the content should add value and maintain a certain quality. “It’s very important for creators to create good content and for consumers to consume good content for your mental state”, she adds.

Larissa shares that she truly believes in the quote “You are you and that’s your superpower”. Larissa shares that one of the biggest mistakes that budding creators make is trying to replicate already existing creators. “People are so scared to change the narrative.” She says, Larissa believes that the audience sitting across the screen is quite intelligent and can make out when you are being your true authentic self and when are you faking it. She believes that the audience connects with a creator if they are being genuine and that’s the only way to build a community.

Larissa shares that she has had a fair share of trolling however, she has never been a part of anything controversial. She says that her perception of looking at trolling is less about taking it personally and more about the understanding that the person sitting across the screen is probably having a bad day. She shares that initially, it used to affect her a lot but with time she has realised that it’s just people’s projection of their insecurities.
Larissa’s journey is an inspiration to many and her belief in quality over quantity in content creation speaks volumes about how adding valuable content can help maintain a healthy mindset.
