One of India’s biggest dance music festival- VH1 Supersonic Festival- is back with it’s fourth edition, scheduled to take place in Pune in February. The Festival, which has erstwhile only been held in Goa, will take place from February 10 to 12 and will bring together the best dance music producers and DJs of national and global fame, during the three days of revelry. The tickets for VH1 Supersonic are now available for online sale.
The phase one tickets for the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival, have already been sold out and phase two tickets are now live, with the general passes priced at Rs 3375 (plus taxes and other charges). VIP Season passes are available at Rs 5624 and the super reasonable student passes are available for only Rs 2700. Although, VH1 Supersonic fans might have been disappointed about the festival moving out of Goa, where its previous three editions took place and were a stupendous success, the headliner has got the crowds more excited. Music afficianados are especially pumped about this year’s edition as Swedish DJ Eric Prydz will be headlining the event, as was confirmed by the organizers last year. Festival curator and DJ Nikhil Chinapa had revealed that he had finally managed to get Prydz for the event, after chasing for almost a decade. According to Chinapa, Prydz is the most respected DJ in the world and all other globally famous DJs like Armin Van Burren, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake and others, look up to him. The festival has moved out of Goa, following the state government’s decision to not allow EDM festivals like Sunburn and VH1 Supersonic to take place there. This is why the festival, which was always held in Candolim and Vagator during peak season December 15 to January 15, was moved out and shifted to Pune, where it will take place at Laxmi Lawns in Magarpatta City, on the outskirts of Pune. Announcing the venue change, the Head or LIVE Viacom18 said, “Carrying a legacy of offering the best in dance music, we are excited to host the upcoming edition of Vh1 Supersonic in Pune. VH1 Supersonic has earlier hosted Supersonic Arcades- single day concerts- with exciting headliners like Above and Beyond, Dash Berlin, Pretty Lights, among others. Besides the annual multiple-day fest, Supersonic is also famous for its year-long editions like Supersonic 101, Club Nights and Takeover. In Supersonic 101, the concert visits colleges and universities across the country, giving the students a chance to unwind and celebrate dance and music. Supersonic Club Nights are the weekend party edition and Supersonic Takeover brings crazy music artists to perform alongside a trippy laser light show in select cities across India.
