New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Thursday released Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) manifesto for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2019. While releasing the manifesto at the party headquarters, along with senior party leaders in the national capital, Arvind Kejriwal said, “The 2019 election is to save the nation, save the Constitution. Arvind Kejriwal asserted that the manifesto lays down the roadmap to take the demand of full statehood forward if AAP comes back to power in the national capital. Arvind Kejriwal said that if Delhi is granted full statehood, then, students in the national capital would get 85 per cent reservation in colleges. The Chief Minister also took a dig at the Modi-led Central government and said that his party “would do anything to stop Modi-Shah duo”. During the manifesto launch event, Delhi CM said, “Our unity is being challenged. Country can be saved only if we don’t get divided across religion and caste lines.”
The ongoing Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases and will conclude on May 19. Delhi will go to polls on May 12. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
