New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday presumably took a jibe at the incumbent CM Yogi Adityanath when he tweeted a picture of one saffron-robed man, accompanying him on a tour and said that ‘baba’ will help tell everyone the truth about this government.

Akhilesh tweeted in Hindi, “We could not get a fake God but we got a Baba. He has left Gorakhpur and will now tell everyone the truth about this government.”

Incidentally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wears a saffron robe and has a clean-shaven head- just like the ‘Baba’ in Akhilesh Yadav’s picture. The incumbent CM is a five-time MP from the Gorakhpur constituency.

The SP-BSP-RLD alliance is contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh and as per the seat-sharing pact, the BSP is contesting 38, SP 37 and RLD on three seats.

Akhilesh Yadav has often termed this ongoing Lok Sabha election as the ‘election of change’. Recently at a rally in Azamgarh, Yadav said “Our Mahagathbandhan is an alliance of three parties (SP, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal) but the BJP is with 38 parties and this is an adulterated alliance.”

Attacking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath then, Akhilesh Yadav had said, “Our Chief Minister is a ‘thokidar’ – he always asks the police to ‘thoko’ (eliminate) criminals. A BJP MP recently hit his own party leaders with his shoes 12 times. We are here to take away the ‘chowki’ of these ‘chowkidars’ and ‘thokidars’.”
