Lok Sabha Elections 2019: West Bengal will go to polls in all the seven phases for its 80 Lok Sabha seats, starting from the first phase on April 11 up to May 19. Let us take a look at the key details of Burdwan-Durgapur, Asansol, Bolpur, Birbhum constituencies in West Bengal which will go to polls in the fourth phase on April 29. The scrutiny of nomination for these seats was scheduled on April 10 and the final date of candidate’s withdrawal was fixed at April 12. The deadline for filing the nomination for the respective seats was April 9.

Burdwan-Durgapur: Voting for the Burdwan-Durgapur constituency in West Bengal will take place in the fourth phase of general elections on April 29. The candidates who are contesting from Burdwan-Durgapur constituency are SS Ahluwalia from BJP, Ranjit Mukherjee from Congress, Abhas Roy Choudhury from CPI(M) and incumbent parliamentarian Mamtaz Sanghamita from All India Trinamool Congress. Mamtaz Sanghamitra won the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections by defeating CPI(M) candidate Saidul Haque.

Asansol: Voting for the Asansol constituency in West Bengal will take place in the fourth phase of general elections on April 29. The candidates who are contesting from Asansol constituency are an incumbent parliamentarian and BJP candidate Babul Supriyo, INC candidate Biswarup Mondal, TMC candidate Dev Varma (Moon Moon Sen) and CPI(M) candidate Gouranga Chatterjee. Birbhum: Birbhum will go to polls in the fourth phase of general elections on April 29. To defeat the incumbent parliamentarian and AITC candidate Satabdi Roy (Banerjee) in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, CPI(M) has fielded Rezaul Karim, the Congress has fielded Imam Hossain while the BJP has fielded Dudh Kumar Mondol. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, the famous actress-turned MP won the polls by defeating the CPI(M) candidate Elahe Kamre Muhammad.

The seven-phase Lok Sabha voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats will conclude on May 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
