Aurangabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owasi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and termed him ‘king of liars’ who ‘doesn’t want to fight terrorism’. Taking a jibe, he also slammed the PM for fielding Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.

If you wanted to fight terrorism, if you had class and sincerity then you would not have made a person with terrorism charges a candidate.” (Full coverage on Lok Sabha Elections)
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday had fielded Malegaon blast case accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in Lok Sabha elections from Bhopal against Congress heavyweight and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh. Out on bail, Thakur has been discharged by a court on charges under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in the 2008 case but is still facing trial under other criminal provisions.
Earlier in the day, Congress’ Tehseen Poonawalla on Thursday filed a complaint with the Election Commission against the candidature of Pragya Singh Thakur and requested it “to de-bar her from contesting elections as she is a terror accused”.
On the other hand, the father of a Malegaon blast victim also filed a plea against the BJP candidate from Bhopal over her candidature from the seat for ongoing general elections. The plea has questioned her candidature before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court citing her health which was one of the reasons in her bail application.
Bhopal, which has a strong Muslim presence, has been a BJP citadel as the party has held the seat uninterrupted since 1989.
The polling for Bhopal Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place on May 12. The results will come out on May 23.
