New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suresh Kumar Khanna on Thursday launched a scathing attack on BSP supremo Mayawati, by terming her a “fused transformer”. When asked about Mayawati’s decision to address a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, the BJP leader said that there was no use talking about “fused transformers”, as they were vain and no good could come out of it.
“Dekhiye ye sab fused transformer hain, fused transformer se agar koi taar jodega to na to uska bulb jalega, na pankha chalega…na pani milega na hawa milegi. Fused transformer ki kya charcha karna? (See, these are all fused transformers, that can’t be put to use in any way, so what the point discussing about it.),” ANI reported Suresh Khanna as saying.
In an earlier incident, another BJP leader attacked Mayawati for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘shaukeen’. BJP MLA Surendra Narayan Singh asked, “She is 60 years old and has not one grey strand. That’s because she keeps getting it coloured. And she calls our leader ‘shaukeen’? Mayawati ji, by colouring your hair, you are trying to prove yourself young?”
Notably, the Lok Sabha polls are being conducted in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. Polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held in all the seven phases. The election results will be declared on May 23. The SP and the BSP announced their alliance in January, and are contesting on 37 and 38 seats respectively in Uttar Pradesh. The RLD, which later joined hands with the SP-BSP, will fight on three seats in the state. This alliance aims to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the state which sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha.
