New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released a list of 177 candidates for the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh which are scheduled to be held on April 11 along with the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.
As per a statement, the ruling party has named its candidates for 123 seats in the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and for 54 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly.
In Andhra Pradesh, two main challengers for power are Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSR Congress with the BJP hoping to improve its tally.

The BJP list for the upcoming polls in Arunchal Pradesh includes the name of chief minister Pema Khandu. He will be contesting the Vidhan Sabha elections from the Mukto assembly constituency.

Notably, the names were finalised in a BJP Central Election Committee meeting that took place on Saturday. The high-level meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and other top leaders of the party.
