New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to interact with people, who have pledged their support to the campaign, from 500 places across the country on Sunday via the NaMo app. The one-hour programme would commence at 5 PM during which details of the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign would be enlisted. The Prime Minister will be speaking to people from the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi through a video conference.

“The outreach programme, which is already turning into a mass movement, is aimed at the common man of the country who silently work in the background and as such is one of the invisible pillars of the country. This is a significant step towards meeting the objectives of ‘antyodaya’ and ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’,” BJP media cell convenor Anil Baluni said.

The #MainBhiChowkidar has been retweeted three million times and got 1,680 impressions on Twitter since Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the slogan for the Lok Sabha elections, said Madhya Pradesh BJP General Secretary V.D. Sharma in Bhopal on Saturday.

Explaining the campaign, Sharma added, “Modi projected himself as a ‘chowkidar’ during 2014 election campaign and people witnessed a decline in corruption during his tenure. But the opposition started defaming him with the word ‘chowkidar’. To nullify their efforts, Modi started ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign on March 16.”

Earlier, BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media that while the movement was becoming popular among the common man, those who were out on bail and facing various legal action were troubled by it.

Intensifying the Lok Sabha elections campaign, senior BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath are also slated to hold rallies in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. While Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to address rallies in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituencies- which are going to polls on April 11, Amit Shah will address two public meetings. He will address a public meeting in K.M. Inter College, Nagina at 11 AM and then reach Baghpat, where he will speak at the Gandhi Memorial Inter College.

Adityanath’s rally will be held in Greater Noida’s Bisada village, where he will canvas for votes for Gautam Budh Nagar’s sitting MP Dr Mahesh Sharma. For Ghaziabad, he will galvanise support for sitting MP and BJP’s candidate General (Retd) VK Singh at Loni. Accompanying Adityanath will be Union minister JP Nadda.

Meanwhile, Amit Shah’s Ahmedabad rally and the subsequent four-km roadshow from Naranpura and Gandhinagar collector office on Saturday turned into a massive show of strength for the NDA.

With a galaxy of political heavyweights attending BJP national president’s rally, the National Democratic Alliance sent out a strong message in the runup to the Lok Sabha elections 2019- We stand united. Apart from senior BJP leaders, like Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Prakash Singh Badal, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan also accompanied Amit Shah on stage.
