PM Modi’s rally at Ramlila Maidan is scheduled at 7 PM. As per reports, over 5,000 buses have been booked by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ferry people for PM Modi’s mega show from all corners of Delhi.
Besides Delhi, the Prime Minister will be addressing two rallies in Haryana on Wednesday. He will be addressing the public around 11 am at Huda Ground in Sector 9, 10, 11 in Fatehabad of Haryana’s Sirsa. Later in the afternoon, he will hold a public meeting at Theme Park near Panorama Museum in Kurukshetra of Haryana.
Apart from PM Modi, Congress general secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also scheduled to hold roadshows North East Delhi and South Delhi constituencies.
Earlier on Tuesday, Union minister and BJP leader Vijay Goel had termed PM Modi’s rally at the iconic Ramlila Maidan as the last nail in the coffin of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress in Delhi.
“I understand that after this rally, Congress and AAP candidates will find it difficult to save their deposits. This will be the last nail in the coffin of the opposition in Delhi,” he said.
He stated that Ramila Maidan was chosen for the prime minister’s rally considering its political significance. Claiming that the public meeting would be the largest-ever in Delhi, he said that the party is expecting Muslim women and first-time voters to participate in it in large numbers.
To make the rally a success, the party has ensured enough number of ambulances, drinking water and route maps. Large digital screens will also be put up on the roadside.
“In the run-up to the rally, we have held meetings in all of our 272 divisions in the city over the last 10 days. We have reached out to students, especially the first-time voters, traders and Muslim women, urging them to participate in the rally in greater numbers,” he revealed.
Seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi will go to polls in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on May 12. The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
