New Delhi: A day after the news that popular Haryanvi singer and dancer Sapna Choudhary joined the Congress Party, she refuted the development. Haryanvi dancer Sapna Choudhary on Wednesday rejected the news of her joining the Congress Party to contest the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Clarifying on the recent report that the stage artist has joined the Congress party after her photo with Priyanka Gandhi went viral, Sapna said the photograph was old and she doesn’t intend to enter politics.

Meanwhile, news agency ANI quoted Narendra Rathi, UP Congress Secretary as saying, “Sapna Choudhary came and filled the membership form herself, her signature is on it. Her sister also joined the party yesterday, we have both of their forms.” A picture of Congress Membership Form with Sapna Chaudhary’s name and signature on it and fee receipt dated March 23 was shared by the news agency ANI.

Earlier, the rumours were doing the rounds that the stage performer would take on Bollywood star Hema Malini, who is the current BJP MP from Mathura and seeking re-election.

Sapna Choudhary also made it clear that she doesn’t have any Twitter account and the photos were shared by her fake accounts. Speaking to media, she said she would neither join any political party nor would campaign for them. As of now, I want to focus on my career in whatever I am doing, Sapna said.

Sapna Choudhary is a popular face on YouTube with a huge fan following. Some of her dance videos have liked in millions. She also worked in some Bollywood movies like Dosti Ke Side Effects and Veere Ki Wedding in small roles.
