New Delhi: All his hectic campaigning may have earned him undue attention from the Election Commission (EC) but that’s not the only damage Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been subjected to. Apparently, his vocal cords are so affected that he has been put on medication, reported ANI on Monday. (Complete Coverage of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Here)

A release by his office said, “Mr Sidhu has been put on steroid medication and injections due to continuous speech damaging his vocal cords. At the moment, Mr Sidhu is under the medication and in the process of a quick recovery to return back to campaigning at the earliest.”

Sidhu has been put on ban by the EC and served several notices for his speeches during these elections. Just a couple of days ago, “Modi Ji uss dulhan ki tarah hain jo roti kum baelti hai aur chudiyaan zada khankati hai taaki mohalle walon ko yeh pata chale ki woh kaam kar rahi hai. Bas yahi hua hai Modi sarkaar mein. (Modiji is like that bride who makes less rotis but makes more noise with bangles so that the neighbourhood knows she is working. This is exactly what has happened in the Narendra Modi government),” Sidhu said in Indore.

Sidhu levelled another attack at PM Modi. He said, “I call him Liar-in-Chief, Divider-in-Chief and Business Manager of Ambani and Adani.”

Last week, he had also been served a notice by the EC for calling PM Modi a traitor at a rally in Bhopal. In April, the EC had barred Sidhu from holding any public meeting, road shows, public rally and interviews in media, in connection with the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, for 72 hours.
