New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hit back at Congress party for accusing him of politicising Pulwama terror attack and Balakot air strike. “If farmers’ death can become an issue during elections, why not jawan’s (soldier’s) death (Kisan mare toh chunav ka mudda, jawan mare toh chunav ka mudda nahi, ye kaise ho sakta hai?)” PM Modi said in an interview with Doordarshan and Rajya Sabha TV. He added that no country in the world can run without patriotism.

Notably, the Congress and other Opposition parties had accused the BJP and PM Modi of politicising the martyrdom of soldiers. The party had alleged that the Prime Minister was busy doing self-promotional photo-shoots when the soldiers were getting martyred in Pulwama on February 14.

PM Modi Slams Manmohan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the other hand, also claimed that the entire house was left shocked when former PM Manmohan Singh had announced that ‘Muslims must have the ‘first right’ over the country’s resources’. “Iss desh ke sansadhano ka pehle adhikaar iss desh ke garib ka hai. Hume vote-bank politics nhi karni chahiye. Aisi ghosna desh kabhi sweekar nhi karega,” PM Modi said.

Singh had made the remark while addressing a meeting of the National Development Council in 2006. “We will have to devise innovative plans to ensure that minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are empowered to share equitably the fruits of development. These must have the first claim on resources, ” Singh had said.

PM Modi on NYAY

Narendra Modi also slammed Congress over its NYAY scheme under which the grand old party has promised to provide Rs 72,000 per year to 20 per cent poor families. “When Congress talks about their NYAY, they are admitting that they did anyay (injustice) to the people of the country. This is going to cost them. Will Congress give nyay (justice) to the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims?”

Furthermore, PM Modi alleged that Congress has done gross injustice to the country in the last 55 years and it has misused the Constitution time and again.

PM on Rahul’s Wayanad candidature

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi over his decision to contest Lok Sabha elections 2019 from Wayanad, in addition to his bastion, Amethi in Uttar Pradesh PM Modi claimed that the Congress president is scared and that’s why he has run away from Amethi.

PM on Regional Parties (PDP, NC) in Kashmir

PDP and NC both mainstream parties in Kashmir were out-dated. “They opposed the local body elections, but still there was 70 per cent voting,” PM Modi said.

Earlier on Sunday, PM Narendra Modi had launched an all-out attack at the families of former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging two families ‘ruined’ three generations of the state and he will not allow them to ‘divide’ India.
