New Delhi: As only four days are left for polling in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, political leaders across the country are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters. Campaigning for this phase will end on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited three states West Bengal, Tripura and Manipur on Sunday. In West Bengal, PM Modi addressed a rally in Cooch Behar and lambasted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Calling her ‘speed-breaker’ didi, PM Modi said,”Didi has put a break on free treatment for the poor under Ayushman Yojana and on financial assistance to farmers.”
The public meeting took place at the sprawling Rash Mela ground near the Cooch Behar Palace, where West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee is set to address a rally on Monday.
After Cooch Behar, the Prime Minister headed to Tripura and addressed an election rally at in Udaipur Girls’ School ground. Later in the day, PM Modi in the evening addressed a public gathering in Manipur’s capital city Imphal.
Meanwhile, BJP president Amit Shah launched the party’s Sankalp Patra for new Odisha at Bhubaneswar today.
Besides, SP-BSP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh also started its joint campaign with a rally at Deoband in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are scheduled to be held in seven phases. The counting of votes across country will be conducted on May 23. The results will be announced on the same day.
