Kolkata: Violence broke out in West Bengal during the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on Sunday, May 12, as the vehicles in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Ghatal Bharti Ghosh’s convoy was pelted with stones. In the incident, a security guard of Ghosh suffered injuries, Zee News reported.

The BJP has alleged the Trinamool Congress workers to be behind the attack.
Taking cognisance of the matter, West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer sought a report from District Magistrate of Ghatal on attack on BJP candidate Bharti Ghosh’s convoy.
The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are ongoing in seven phases. The counting of votes across the country will be held on May 23.
