New Delhi: Ahead of forthcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, Election Commission (EC) has revamped its helpline service number available 1950. The move will help voters t get authentic information about their registration.

By using the helpline number, voters can now check the details about their personal information and polling station. Besides, they can access information about polling officers right from booth level to the district election officers.

Notably, it is important for citizens to check details as they can’t caste their  vote just by having a voter ID card. In addition to having the voter ID card, a voter names must also be enrolled in the electoral roll on the polling day.

How to get information through free SMS service

Voters get information by sending SMS to 1950

To get the desired information, citizens can send information in below mentioned format

(a) ECI <EPIC Number> <0 (for reply in English) or <1 (for reply in the regional language).

(b) ECIPS <EPIC Number>

This will fetch the address of the polling station


This will fetch the reply providing the sender with contact details of Booth Level Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and District Election Officers.

How to get your name enrolled in electoral roll?

An eligible citizen can enroll his/her name in the electoral roll by submitting Form 6 online through
