New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and claimed that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo will make all the efforts to join NDA back once NDA govt will retain power in Lok Sabha elections 2019.

“I am sure once the counting for 2019 elections will be over and NDA govt will come in power again, Chandrababu Naidu will make all the efforts to join NDA back but this time the doors will remain closed for him,” said Shah, while addressing  Shakti Kendra Pramukh Sammelan in Masonic Temple Ground, Andhra Pradesh.

He also accused him of supporting the party which insulted Andhra Pradeh. “I want to ask why Chandrababu Naidu left NDA who provided Rs. 5 lakh 56 thousand crore and supported Congress party which only provided around Rs. 1 lakh crore to Andhra. To overcome corruption in TDP government, Naidu broke ties with NDA,” Shah alleged.

“NDA government’s support for the development of Andhra Pradesh is ten times more than what has been provided during the 55 years of Congress government,” the BJP president said.

Recounting his political career, Shah said that it won’t be wrong if we call Chandrababu Naidu a ‘U-turn’ chief minister.

“He started his political career with Congress, and then joined MTR’s TDP party and enjoyed being in the ruling party. However, he later betrayed MTR and took over the entire party under his control and enjoyed power. After that, when Atal Bihari Vijpayee became the PM, he chose to become part of the NDA govt so as to enjoy being in power, and then later left it too,” the BJP chief stated.
