New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Odisha’s Sambalpur on Tuesday. While addressing the gathering, PM Modi thanked the people for their support.
Polling in Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituencies will be held in the third phase on April 23. PM Modi is also scheduled to address a rally in Chattisgarh later in the day. He will address two election meetings– the first meeting is in Korba and the other is in village Suma of Bhatapara in Balodabazar district.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi started his campaigning today in Kerala. He addressed a rally in Kollam district and exuded confidence in winning the elections. Rahul is also scheduled to address a public rally at Pathanapuram and Pathanamthitta. On April 17, he will visit both Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram. The Congress President will stay in the state till April 17. It is then that the leaders of the United Democratic Front (UDF) from Kannur, Kozhikode and Kasaragod are scheduled to meet Rahul on Wednesday. The Congress chief will then proceed to Wayanad where he himself is a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections.
Other key leaders scheduled to hold rallies today are :
- Udhav Thackeray in Bangarnanagr and Goregaon
- Sharad Pawar in Jalna
- Tejashwi Yadav in Madhuban, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Chhapra
- Jitan Ram Manjhi in Banka, Bhagalpur, Katihar and Purnea
- Sushil Modi in Purnea and Katihar
- Nitish Kumar in Bhagalpur, Madhepura, Madhubani and Supual.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to file his nomination papers from Lucknow today. Union Minister for Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will also file his nomination from Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency.
