    LS Polls 2019 Live: Congress’s Shakeel Ahmad said in a tweet, “As I have decided to file my nomination papers tomorrow from Madhubani Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar, I’m resigning from the post of Senior Spokesperson of AICC. I’m sending my resignation to Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi.”

Ahmedabad: Congress President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address rallies in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra on Monday. Rahul, along with his sister and general secretary of Congress for Uttar Pradesh (East), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and UP West in charge Jyotiraditya Scindia is scheduled to conduct a joint rally at Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat in Agra. The trio is expected to hold a roadshow in support of Congress candidate Raj Babbar.

After the Uttar Pradesh rally, Rahul will address a public rally in Rajula town under Amreli Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat, stated a party functionary. “Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Rajula. Although the town is located in Bhavnagar district, it is a part of Amreli Lok Sabha constituency,” said state Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi. “The idea behind organising the rally in Rajula is to be able to address the people of three Lok Sabha seats of Amreli, Junagadh and Bhavnagar,” Doshi added.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has also scheduled a few more rallies of Rahul later in the week, said the party spokesperson. The election for all the 26 seats in Gujarat will take place on April 23.  It must be noted that Priyanka will be on a two-day visit to Amethi starting Monday. She is expected to meet party workers and later tour the place.

Here is the schedule of Congress President’s rally in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra on April 15:

11.15 AM – Public Meeting at Mandi Samiti Ground, Jarar, Bah, District Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

4 PM – Public Meeting at Aashrana Cross Road Public Meeting Ground, Mahuva, District Bhavnagar, Gujarat

7 PM – Public Meeting at Market Committee Ground, New Mundha, District Nanded, Maharashtra

Besides, the Congress leaders are also expected to address joint rallies in Aligarh and Nagina Lok Sabha seats on the same day. All the three seats (Fatehpur Sikri, Aligarh and Nagina) in Uttar Pradesh will vote in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
