New Delhi: A day ahead of sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lambasted ‘Mahagathabandhan’, claiming the ‘mahamilavati’ (adulterated) government can not take strategic decisions. Referring to 1998 Pokharan nuclear tests, PM Modi attacked previous governments, saying that the ‘government prior to Atal Bihari Vajpayee lacked courage to take strong decisions’.
While addressing a rally in Robertsganj, Modi said,”21 years back on this day, India successfully carried out nuclear test – operation Shakti. This historical incident in 1998 proves what a strong political willpower can do for national security. India always had such ability but governments prior to Atal Bihari Vajpayee didn’t have courage to take such decision.”
“You can achieve this only if your priority is national security. Only then can you have courage to take a decision for nuclear test. Strong government will ensure a strong nation and your vote will make India strong,” he added.
Modi also took on Opposition leaders over their comments on his caste. “They have now started asking what is the caste of Modi. Modi has only one caste – the caste which all the poor of this country belong to. Those who consider themselves poor, I belong to their caste,” PM asserted.
