Ranaghat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a rally in West Bengal’s Ranaghat attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for renting goons and actors from outside the country in order to win the Lok Sabha elections. Claiming that renting criminals wouldn’t propel her back to power, PM Modi said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was sure to win this election in Bengal as the people of the state were with the saffron party.
The PM said, “Affection (Mamata) for goons and brutality (Nirmamata) for the people. This is the situation in West Bengal.”
“Ab videshi kalakaron aur kiraye ke gundon ke bal par hi Didi akhri koshish karne mein juti hai.Lekin iss baar bachna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai, kyunki iss baar BJP ke saath hi WB ki janta bhi unke khilaaf maidan mein khadi ho gayi hai,” said PM Modi while addressing a rally.
Slamming Mamata on her home turf, he appealed to the people to vote for BJP as any vote to Trinamool Congress (TMC), Congress and the Left will only strengthen the syndicate. He said, “When you vote for the lotus, you’ll strengthen the country.”
Speaking over discriminating against people on the basis of religion in the state, PM said, “The persecuted minorities who had to leave their home and hearth due to their affiliation to a particular religion will be given citizenship in the country.” He went on to speak on the NRC saying the BJP will identify infiltrators through NRC so that people of Bengal are not deprived of their rights.
“Through NRC, we will identify the infiltrators so that the people of Bengal aren’t deprived of their rights. One who cried in the Parliament for removing the infiltrators in 2005 from Bengal, is now shielding them. She has forgotten that the chowkidar is alert and won’t let her succeed in her motives,” said the PM.
Amping his attack on Mamata, he added that the West Bengal CM was supporting the Mahatgathbandhan as she was afraid of being exposed– referring to the chit fund scam. “Didi wanted to escape investigation in the chit fund scam and therefore, she is supporting a coalition that’s weak,” he said.
Meanwhile, at a public meeting in Sreerampur, Mamata lashed out at BJP saying that people of all religion and region were safe under TMC. Responding to PM Modi’s comment that she did not allow people to celebrate Durga Puja, Mamata added, “We even have government holidays on the puja days.”
