Responding to the news, Mufti tweeted, “Didn’t PM roll out the red carpet for Saudi Prince who later pledged to invest $100 billion in India? 🤔 Also, last I checked UAE was a Muslim country which awarded PM Modi the highest civilian honour. Awards kay waqt Muslim, Christian sab chalta hai? (Muslim, Christian, everything goes when it is about awards?)”

Baba Ramdev, while he accompanied Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore as he filed his nominations on Wednesday, was quoted as saying, “Anti-national powers within and outside the country and many Christian & Islamic countries are funding thousands of crores of rupees to prevent Modi from coming to power.”

Mufti, who was a BJP ally till last year when the saffron party walked out, has been extremely critical of the Modi government. A few hours before that, she had criticised the saffron party for its choice of candidate for Bhopal. When Mehbooba learnt that BJP had fielded Sadhvi Pragya from Bhopal, she tweeted, “Imagine the anger if I’d field a terror accused. Channels would’ve gone berserk by now trending a mehboobaterrorist hashtag! According to these guys, terror has no religion when it comes to saffron fanatics but otherwise, all Muslims are terrorists. Guilty until proven innocent.”

Meanwhile, the former CM is campaigning in Anantnag as she hopes to make a return as a PDP MP. Reports say she is seeking votes on the ground that she needs to be in Parliament so that she can voice the concerns of locals there.
