Ambedkar Nagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya after a hiatus of five years. Speaking about the development strides made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, he spoke about how the saffron party has worked for the upliftment of the poor. Stating that the poor also want to thrive and grow, PM Modi said, “No chaiwala wants his child to become a chaiwala.”

He went on to add, “Koi gareeb apne bachche ko gareeb nahi dekhna chahta. Koi chaiwala ye nahi sochta ki uska bachcha bada ho kar chaiwala bane. Koi rehdiwala ye nahi sochta ki uska bachha bada hokar rehdi chalaye. Koi sabzi bechne wali ye nahi sochti ki uska bachha bada hokar sabzi beche. (No poor wants or thinks that his child should sell tea, vegetables or become a vendor when he/she comes of age).”

He added, “I understand the pain of the poor people, I understand their illness. To fight this, I have introduced the Ayushman Scheme.”

PM Modi also addressed a rally in Ambedkar Nagar where he attacked Bahujan Samaj Party (BJP) chief Mayawati. Accusing Mayawati of exploiting the name of Ambedkar, PM Modi said, “Behen ji used the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar but she did everything just the opposite of his principles.” He also made a similar jibe at Samajwadi Party stating the latter used Lohia as a tool and destroyed the law and order situation in UP.

Hitting out at Congress, he said all the three parties– BSP, SP and the grand old party — sailed in the same boat. “Be it SP, BSP or Congress, it’s necessary to know their reality, ” he said.

Mocking the Opposition political parties, PM Modi thanked the people for showering love and affection upon him but added that the blood pressure of SP-BSP shoots up on witnessing the love of people for the saffron party. “Aap itna pyaar dikhate hain, udhar SP-BSP walon ka BP badh jata hai,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi will also address a poll rally in Itarsi town in Madhya Pradesh which is part of the Hoshangabad Lok Sabha seat. Hoshangabad will go to polls on May 6. The BJP has fielded sitting MP Rao Uday Pratap Singh from Hoshangabad while Congress is banking on senior party leader Shailendra Diwan in this constituency.
