“Azadi ke samay agar Nehru zidd nahi karte, to iss desh ke 2 tukde nahi hote. Mohd Jinnah, ek advocate, ek vidwan vyakti, agar us waqt decision liya hota ki hamara PM Md. Jinnah banega, to is desh ke tukde nahi hote. (Mohammad Jinnah was an advocate and a learned man. If it had been decided then that Mohammad Jinnah would be our prime minister then, then this country would not have been divided), ” news agency ANI quoted the BJP leader as saying.
This is not the first time a BJP leader has targeted Nehru, one of the Congress’s tallest leaders.
Earlier this month, while addressing a rally in Kaushambi, PM Modi had claimed that to protect the image of the government and to spare Jawaharlal Nehru, the media had suppressed 1954 Kumbh stampede tragedy.
“When Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was prime minister, thousands of people were killed in the Kumbh stampede in Allahabad,” PM Modi had said.
