New Delhi: PM Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on Congress party and called its recently-released poll manifesto a ‘Dhakosla Patra (Sham document)’. Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, PM Modi said,” What the Congress has written in its sham manifesto implies that those who commit crime against women will get bail. (Congress ne apne dhakosla patra mein jo likha hai uska matlab ye nikalta hai ki betiyon ke sath rakshasi aprad karnewalon ko bhi ab bail mil jayegi. Jo dahej ke karan bahu ko zinda jala dete hain, kya aise rakshaso ko bail milni chaiye?).”
He also claimed that Opposition parties will never allow law against triple talaq. “I want to tell my Muslim sisters, they will continue to be exploited under Congress, SP-BSP rule. They will never let Triple Talaq go ahead. People who think of “boti, boti” will not think of “beti” (daughters),” PM said.
PM Modi also hit out at Bahujan Samaj party chief Mayawati and alleged that she criticised him for washing the feet of cleanliness workers at Kumbh. “When I washed the feet of those associated with cleanliness at Kumbh and gave them respect in my own way, Behanji criticised me immediately. But she never said a word when the Congress insulted the cleanliness workers,” PM Modi said.
Earlier in the day, in a veiled attack on Opposition leaders, PM Modi, while addressing a rally in Amroha had said “some people” did not like the fact that terrorists were being given a reply in their own language.
“After the terrorist attack, should I have remained silent or attacked,” he asked the gathering, referring to the February 14 terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama. Terrorists are being given a reply in their own language… This is not liked by some people who lose their sleep when India hits back. When Pakistan is exposed in front of the world, “these people” start speaking in its favour and there is “competition among them to become its (Pakistan’s) hero”, PM Modi had said.
He added,”Be it the Congress, the SP or the BSP, they have put your life and future in danger.”
The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will kick start on April 11 and Uttar Pradesh will go to polls during all seven phases. The counting of votes will be done on May 23.
