New Delhi: Senior actor Jaya Prada, who recently joined the BJP right before the Lok Sabha elections, took to social media to make the announcement about her nomination.
Posting on her Facebook page, she shared a video announcing her nomination from Rampur against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and mentioned that she was happy to contest from this particular constituency. Extending her support to PM Modi, she also asked for everyone’s blessings on her birthday.
She wrote, “यह मेरे लिए बहुत खुशी की बात है कि मेरे जन्मदिन पर मैं रामपुर से उम्मीदवार के रूप में अपना नामांकन दाखिल करने वाली हूं। आपका आशीर्वाद चाहती हूं और शुभकामनाओं के लिए आप सभी को धन्यवाद देना चाहती हूं। #JayaPrada #MainBhiChowkidar #NationSaysNamoAgain”. (It is a great pleasure for me that on my birthday I am going to file my nomination as a candidate from Rampur. I want your blessings and best wishes. I thank you in advance for all the good wishes you have sent.)”
She also posted a video on Facebook announcing her nomination.
The actress started her political stint with N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) but she quit the TDP following a dispute with the Andhra CM. Later, she joined hands with Samajwadi Party and became MP from Rampur between 2004- 2009. In 2010, she was expelled from the SP, after which she floated Rashtriya Lok Manch along with Amar Singh.
