New Delhi: Congress general secretary for UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday used Mahabharata analogy to hit back at PM Narendra Modi over his ‘Bhrashtachari No 1’ jibe at her father Rajiv Gandhi. Comparing Modi with Duryodhan (the evil price from Mahabharata), Priyanka, while addressing a rally in Haryana’s Ambala, said, “He (Narendra Modi) is as arrogant as Duryodhan, who got defeated because of his ego.”

Desh ne ahankaar ko kabhi maaf nahi kiya, aisa ahankaar Duryodhan mein bhi tha,jab Bhagwan Krishna unhe samjhane gaye to unko bhi Duryodhan ne bandhak banane ki koshish ki. Dinkar ji ki panktiyan hain,’Jab naash manuj par chaata hai, pehle vivek mar jata hai..,” the Congress general secretary said.

Intensifying her attack on the government, Priyanka said,“The BJP leaders never in their poll campaign inform if they fulfilled their promise or not. They seek vote in the name of martyrs or the martyr (Rajiv Gandhi) of my family. (Chunav ke prachar mein BJP ke neta kabhi ye nahi kehte ki unhone jo wade kiye the woh poore kiye ya nahi. Kabhi shaheedon ke name pe vote maangte hai, toh kabhi mera parivaar ke shaheed sadasyon ka apaman karte hain), said Priyanka.

Hitting out at PM Modi, the Congress leader further said that he has no time to listen to the farmers but has time to seek votes by taking the name of martyr of my family. “This election is not about one family but about the failure of Modi-led BJP government,” asserted Priyanka.

Reacting sharply to Priyanka’s Duryodhan jibe at PM Modi, BJP president Amit Shah said,”May 23 will decide who is Arjun and who is Duryodhan”.
