Lok Sabha Elections 2019Puducherry will go to polls on April 18 and is the only constituency in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Notably, this Lok Sabha seat is neither reserved for Scheduled Castes nor Scheduled Tribes candidates.

This year, as many as 8,85,458 voters will participate in the ongoing general elections this state. In 2014, All India NR Congress’ R. Radhakrishnan won the general elections against Congress’ V. Narayanasamy.

The UT will see a tight contest between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC) and Pattali Makkal Kochi (PMK).

As per poll pundits, the Congress would retain the power in the Union Territory.

As per Election Commission of India (ECI), the sex ratio in the state is in the favour of women.
