New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal CM and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee by saying that ‘Didi’ is supporting people who want two PMs in India. “For vote bank politics, ‘Didi’ now stands with the people who want to break India. She is supporting people who want two PMs in India,” PM Modi said this in an apparent reference to National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah‘s recent statement wherein he had advocated a separate prime minister for Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a rally in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar, PM Modi also called Mamata Banerjee ‘speed breaker’ of West Bengal. “Chants of Modi, Modi is giving sleepless nights to ‘speed breaker’ ‘Didi’. She has put a break on free treatment for the poor under Ayushman Yojana and on financial assistance to farmers,” PM claimed.
Intensifying attack on Mamata, PM further used the Saradha – Rose Valley – Narada rhetoric and alleged that Goddess Saradha is worshipped everywhere. But, here (West Bengal) her name is embroiled in chit fund scams. “I promise to bring those who have suffered from the Narada, Saradha and Rose Valley scams to justice,”PM stated, adding,”The shower of abuses and her frustration from election commission reflect her fear.”
PM also alleged that Bengal was deprived of development due to Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government. He asked,”Mamata Banerjee has betrayed the people of West Bengal. Has Didi informed you why recommendations of 7th pay commission were not implemented? Has she told you why despite clearing exams no appointments are being done in Bengal?” PM asked.
He also attacked previous UPA-led government over its inaction against terrorism. “Before 2014, terrorist used to strike every now and then. Then govt was aware of where these terrorists came from. However, they failed to take any strict action despite requests from the armed forces. Now the situation has changed entirely. We now enter the homes of the enemies and kill them,” Modi asserted.
