New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about multiple cases of rape of minor tribal girls in a tribal hostel run by “Infant Jesus Education Society” in Chandrapur. This is from where Ahir is contesting Lok Sabha elections on BJP ticket.
Ahir said that the minor girls were allegedly drugged and sexually abused by staff of the hostel. Adding that there was dissatisfaction and unrest among people of Ahir’s constituency and ‘people are clamouring for a CBI enquiry’.

The minister also said that there had been a delay in registering FIR and no action had been taken for about a week.
Therefore, the minister has requested Fadnavis to “enquire delay in registration of FIR in the case”.
Local reports say that five minor tribal girls were sexually abused by four officials of the tribal hostel. While Hostel Superintendent Chaban Pachare and Deputy Superintendent Narendra Virutkar were arrested for allegedly raping the girl, Hostel Warden Kalpana Thakre and Assistant Lata Kanake were held for abetting the crime, said a report.
