Vivek Oberoi, whose movie ‘PM Narendra Modi’, a biopic on the incumbent Prime Minister, is slated to release on May 24, tweeted, “I can’t understand why a respected lady like Didi is behaving like Saddam Hussain! Ironically, democracy is under threat and in danger by Dictator Didi herself. First #PriyankaSharma & now #TajinderBagga. यह दीदीगिरी नही चलेगी ! #SaveBengalSaveDemocracy #FreeTajinderBagga.” Also Read - Mohammad Shami's Wife Hasin Jahan Makes ‘This Special Appeal’ To PM Modi, HM Shah | Watch
Vivek Oberoi referred to the episode of BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga allegedly detained by the Kolkata police on Tuesday, hours after clashes erupted between BJP and Trinamool workers at Amit Shah‘s roadshow. He also drew a parallel to the case of BJP youth worker Priyanka Sharma being slapped with a case over sharing a meme with Mamata Banerjee’s face superimposed on Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra from last week’s MET Gala event.
Clashes broke out between the members of Trinamool Congress students’ union and BJP supporters who participated in BJP national president Amit Shah’s roadshow in north Kolkata on Tuesday evening, following which a group of saffron party activists allegedly resorted to vandalism inside the Vidyasagar College campus and destroyed a bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar.
To this, Shah retorted that the vandalism was the handiwork of TMC ‘goons’. Addressing the media at BJP headquarters, BJP President Amit Shah said, “Six phases of the elections have been completed throughout the country but incidents of violence are happening only in West Bengal. (Chief Minister) Mamata Banerjee is alleging that the BJP is spreading violence in the state. She is contesting on only 42 seats but the BJP is contesting across the country. No incident of violence has been reported from anywhere except Bengal. This means Trinamool is responsible for the violence.”
