Bijnor: In Bijnor to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday attacked the Congress, saying if the party was not “taught a lesson in time” it would start giving “allowance to stone pelters” in Kashmir.
Addressing an election rally here, Yogi also slammed BSP chief Mayawati, saying her party would get zero seats in this Lok Sabha polls like 2014. On Mayawati’s request to the Muslim voters not to divide their votes, Yogi said that if the alliance was out to seek only Muslim votes, others would also think who to vote for.
On Congress, he said, “It’s important to teach a timely lesson to Congress otherwise it will start giving allowance to stone pelters in Kashmir as it sympathises with them.”
Taking a dig at Mayawati, he said, “Those contesting on 38 seats are dreaming of becoming the prime minister”. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) have forged an alliance to take on the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.
Later, reacting to the BJP’s manifesto, Yogi said, “It is for the first time that a government has promised a house by 2022, to every poor family. The BJP has reiterated its commitment on the Ram temple issue, on Kashmir and Uniform Civil Code. The coming five years will be to address the aspirations of people.”
In Uttar Pradesh, as per their seat-sharing agreement, SP is contesting on 37 seats and the BSP on 38. Three seats have been given to the RLD.
