Jabalpur: BJP President Amit Shah on Tuesday responded to Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s attack on him and said he would not comment on the latter’s legal knowledge.

He added that a fake case was registered against him in which court had delivered its judgment. “The gist of the judgment was that it was a politically motivated case and there was no evidence,” he said.

Shah was among the prime accused in a couple of fake encounter cases but a special CBI court discharged him from both citing lack of evidence.

Earlier in the day, addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress President had referred to Shah as a “murder accused”.

Citing a controversial report, Rahul even hit out at Shah’s son for turning “Rs 50,000 into Rs 80 crore in a matter of three months”.

“Murder accused BJP President Amit Shah….waah! kya shaan hai….Have you heard Jay Shah’s name? He is a magician, he made Rs 50,000 into Rs 80 crore in 3 months,” said Rahul while referring to the controversy which erupted in December 2017. Watch the video here.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a contempt notice to Rahul for attributing the ‘chowkidar chor hai’ jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the court. The development comes a day after Rahul expressed regret in the apex court for linking his jibe at PM with the top court’s order on Rafale. The court said that the Rafale Deal review petitions matter will be heard on April 30.

On April 10, soon after the apex court verdict last week, Rahul had reportedly said, “I am ready to debate with PM Modi at a location of his choosing… the corruption in the deal is very evident… he has given IAF’s money to Anil Ambani. The SC order today proves that chowkidar chor hai .”
