New Delhi: Hitting back at Uttar Pradesh chief minister for his Batla House jibe, Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Salman Khurshid called Yogi Adityanath  ‘gaumata’s useless son who stole her fodder’.

Yogi ji se kahiye ki rishte mein main unka baap lagta hun… Ab woh uske liye kya kahenge ki beta bada naakaara nikla. Gau mata ko khana bhi nahi pura pahunchata(Tell Yogi ji that I am like his father… What would he say then, that the son has become useless, who does not even give enough food to cows),” Khurshid told media persons in Farrukhabad, the seat from where he is contesting the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Reacting sharply to Khurshid’s statement, Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said, “Opposition parties are making desperate statement ahead of their defeat. Salman Khurshid’s statement against the Yogi Adityanath is an insult for a religious guru and CM of Uttar Pradesh. He is also known as ‘dharma’ guru. Such filthy language for UP CM, who is religious head, is not acceptable.”

He added,”This kind of filmy dialogue can suit Rahul Gandhi, but not to UP CM. I condemn this statement made by Salman Khurushid and demand an apology from him. We don’t accept this type of negative statement during elections”.

Earlier on Saturday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had attacked Khurshid while campaigning in Farrukhabad. Adityanath had said, “He (Salman Khurshid) is the Congress candidate from here. He should be asked what is his relation with the terrorists of Batla House (in Delhi) and in which capacity did he decide to pursue their case.”
