Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad alleged that 139 phone calls were made from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s residence to an accused in the case who is in jail.
“Why should so many calls be made from the chief minister’s residence to an accused in the scam? This hints at the chief minister’s complicity. He should resign at once,” Ahmad demanded.
BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi rubbished the Congress allegations, saying “lies” propagated by the grand old party would dent its image further.
“The Congress is pulling out one fresh lie every day. Every day they have a new allegation, new story. This will only ruin whatever is left of their reputation,” Naqvi said.
