A shocking incident of child sexual abuse has come to the fore from Indore in Madhya Pradesh where a 10-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised and assaulted in a madrasa by a 20-year-old staffer. According to the police, the incident took place on August 2, when the child, a student at the madrasa falling under the Badgonda police station official limits, was sexually abused by the staffer after lunch.
A senior official said the accused also thrashed the boy and threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the abuse.
“The accused also assaulted the boy and threatened to kill him if he revealed the ordeal to anyone. The victim had entered into a fight with some other boys and was made to sleep in the accused’s room for some days till tempers cooled,” he said.
Days after the incident, when the boy managed to slip out of the madrasa, he borrowed a mobile phone from a passerby and made a call to his mother, informing her about his harrowing ordeal at the religious school.

“After the incident, the boy came out of the madrasa, took the phone of a passerby and informed his mother,” said the police.
Meanwhile, the accused madrasa staffer has been arrested and a case registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, based on the the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, they said.
“The accused has been remanded in judicial custody,” police said, adding that further investigation in the case is underway.
