Mumbai: In a day ridden with tragedies for Maharashtra, two persons including a woman died in a fire that broke out in Hansa Heritage, a 15-storey residential building in suburban Kandivali (West) of Mumbai, reported news agency ANI. “Seven people were stranded in a flat of the building. The fire has been doused and the cooling process is underway,” a fire official was quoted as saying.
“Police, four firefighting vehicles and fire brigade personnel rushed to the site and started rescue and dousing operations. Two persons who were injured were taken to a nearby hospital,” a civic official said. One of the two injured who were brought to the hospital, was declared brought dead. With death of a woman, the number of deaths in Hansa Heritage building fire in Mumbai’s Kandivali rises to two, Mumbai Police said later.

At least 7 fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot and were engaged in firefighting operations, the Mumbai Fire Brigade said. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also visited the spot.
