IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Mumbai Airport After Receiving Bomb Threat

The IndiGo airline stated that after completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area.

Mumbai: An IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport on Saturday after the flight received a bomb threat. The airline issued a statement sand said the flight number 6E 5314 from Chennai to Mumbai is currently undergoing inspection. The airline also added that after making emergency landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines.

The airline also stated that after completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area.

“IndiGo flight 6E 5314 operating from Chennai to Mumbai had received a bomb threat. Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines. All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft. The aircraft is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area,” the airline said in a statement.


The development comes a day after a bomb threat targeting a Vistara flight was received at Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar airport on Friday. However the incident later turned out to be a hoax after a thorough check.

Recently, another IndiGo flight heading towards Varanasi received a bomb threat at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, and after strong evacuation procedures aided by ‘evacuation slides’, the 176 passengers onboard were safely evacuated, and a subsequent search confirmed the threat to be a hoax.
