Car Dealer, With Multiple Injuries On Body, Found Dead In Audi Parked On Mumbai-Goa Highway

The victim was identified as Sanjay Kalra, a resident of Dabhad in Talegaon, Pune, and according to the police, he had a criminal background in the past.

Mumbai: The body of a businessman from Pune was found in an abandoned Audi car in Tara village in Panvel along the Mumbai-Goa highway on Friday evening. The police was informed about it after some locals noticed it inside the car. The car had been parked there since Thursday, and it was only on Friday evening that locals noticed a body inside, according to police.

As there were stabbing injuries on the victim’s body, the police have registered a murder case against an unidentified accused. The victim was identified as Sanjay Kalra, a resident of Dabhad in Talegaon, Pune, and according to the police, he had a criminal background in the past. Reportedly, He was also booked under MCOCA and was released on parole recently.

“The victim has been identified as Sanjay Karla (44), a resident of Talegaon-Dabhade, Pune, who deals in resale of cars. As the Audi car was with MH-14 RTO passing, we obtained details of the car owner from Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO and learnt that the said Audi car is registered in the name of Tejas Salve, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad,” a report in TOI quoted Anil Patil, Senior police inspectior of Panvel taluka police station as saying.

The police had to break the window of the car to bring out the body on Friday night. The body had started to decompose. Injury mark found on chest could be a stab mark or bullet wound, the police said adding that the details would only emerge after a post-mortem and further investigations.
