Maharashtra Mahim assembly election results 2024: Mahesh Sawant of Shiv Sena (UBT) emerged victorious in the Mahim constituency, defeating Shiv Sena’s Sada Sarvankar by a narrow margin of 1,316 votes. Sawant secured 50,213 votes, while Sarvankar garnered 48,897 votes. Amit Raj Thackeray, making his political debut, finished third with 33,062 votes.
The Mahim Assembly, part of the Mumbai South Central Lok Sabha constituency, has historically been a Shiv Sena stronghold.
In the 2019 elections, Sada Sarvankar of Shiv Sena retained the seat with 61,337 votes, defeating Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Sandeep Deshpande, who received 42,690 votes. This year’s results reflect a competitive contest and changing dynamics within Maharashtra’s political landscape.

As of 9:30 AM, Amit Thackeray, contesting his debut election, is trailing in the Mahim Assembly seat after 1.5 hours of counting.
The BJP has taken a significant lead, ahead in 154 seats, while the Congress and its MVA allies trail with leads in only 91 constituencies in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.
