The signal failure at CSMT caused significant disruption not only for passengers but for the rail traffic as well. The lack of official updates or information on the issue further compounded the confusion and frustration among commuters. To add to their woes, there were no official updates or information on the issue, leading to further confusion and distress among commuters.
Meanwhile, responding to the glitch, the officials from the Central Railway dismissed the incident after it was fixed saying that there was a signal failure and was put right at 3:16 pm, reported mid-day as it shared the plight of some of the commuters.

“There was no way for commuters to know what was wrong. We waited for quite some time before jumping on tracks. In this age of communication, the railways still do not have a way to communicate real-time updates inside the train,” a commuter Mohanan Raji said.
“The railways social media accounts are only being used to promote the government and other useless things. A timely update for commuters would do wonders,” another commuter Rakshit Doshi added.
The fact that there was a severe lack of timely and accurate information from the railway authorities has put a big question mark on the efficiency and functioning of the railways.
The common complaint was that there were no regular updates or clear announcements about the cause of the disruption, estimated resolution time, or alternative travel options.
