Mumbai Police Receives Threat Calls To Blow Up Taj Hotel, International Airport

The city police immediately flung into action and carried out extensive search operations at the premises.

Bomb Threat: Maharashtra capital Mumbai was shaken up for a few moments on Monday after Mumbai Police said that it received a threat call in which a caller said that bombs had been placed at the Taj Hotel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in the city.

The city police immediately flung into action and carried out extensive search operations at the premises but nothing suspicious was found.

The Mumbai Police said that the call came from Uttar Pradesh and now the police are searching for the caller.

Further investigation is underway.

A few days back, the Mumbai Police control room received a call in which the caller said that a bomb had been placed at the Dadar outlet of McDonald’s.

Police said the caller mentioned that he overheard a conversation between two people while travelling in a bus who were talking about “blowing up McDonald’s”.

Police did not find any suspicious objects at the spot.

On Thursday, May 23, Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College of Delhi University received similar calls warning about bombs being planted at the colleges. The local police, a bomb disposal squad, and a bomb detection team arrived at the spot along with a dog squad but found nothing.

On the same day, three luxury hotels in Bengaluru received bomb threats via email after which police and a bomb squad teams rushed to the spots and started a search operation.

On Wednesday, May 22, the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi received a bomb threat call following which Delhi Police rushed the teams of bomb disposal squad along with fire tenders to the spot.

The threat was conveyed via an email sent to the Police Control Room at the North Block, New Delhi area.
