An orange alert has been issued in Mumbai on Monday. However, heavy rainfall is also likely in Raigad and Palghar. The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in the Konkan, central Maharashtra, and Marathwada regions of the state. In some places, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall.
This year so far, the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai together have received 116 percent of the average rainfall.
According to Monsoon Report released by BMC, Mumbai city and suburbs received 115.44% of the average rainfall till September 28, i.e. yesterday.
After heavy rainfalls in city, water stock in the seven lakes, supplying water to Mumbai increased.
