Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a restriction in preparation for the vote counting which will be held at the Nesco Exhibition Centre on Tuesday, June 4. As per the traffic advisory, private buses and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the Nesco Exhibition Centre area stretching from Shankarvadi to Dahisar Check Naka. Commuters must know that the restriction will be in place from 6 am to 7 am.
The advisory aims at curbing traffic congestion and ensure smooth flow of traffic during the process of counting of votes. The Mumbai Traffic Police urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the restrictions.
“For smooth running of traffic and proper traffic management at Strong Room Veterinary College and vote counting Centre at Nesco Exhibition Centre within Jogeshwari Traffic Division in Brihan Mumbai City, all heavy vehicles entering and leaving will be restricted to enter and play on all types of roads on Western Express highway from Shankarwadi to Dahisar Check Naka,” read the official order.
“Essential service providing vehicles such as those providing Vegetables, Milk, Bakery Products, Drinking Water, Petroleum Products, Ambulances, Government and Semi-Government Vehicles and school Buses are exempted from the above restrictions,” it added.
As per the advisory, essential services vehicles such as Vegetables, Milk, Bakery Products, Drinking Water, Petroleum Products, Ambulances, etc are exempted from the traffic restrictions and can move freely on the restricted routes.
“Members of public and motorists are hereby requested to please take a note of above changes and co-operate with the Police,” said the traffic advisory posted on the official account of Mumbai Traffic Police on X, formerly Twitter.
