Mumbai: Attention Mumbaikar! The city of Mumbai is expected to face water cut for 12 hours on Thursday. The residents particularly those residing in the M/East and M/West wards will be affected by the water cut. The Mumbai residents have been asked to use water judiciously during this period of disruption.

Mumbai Water Cut: Check Timing

In a statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the water supply in Mumbai will be affected from 11 AM to 11 PM on Thursday to facilitate the installation of a larger diameter culvert pipe.

This move comes as part of BMC’s efforts to enhance water supply infrastructure in the region. Officials have revealed that the current water supply pipes are of smaller diameter, necessitating the installation of a 750 mm diameter culvert pipe to improve water pressure and distribution in the affected areas.

M East Division: Lakshmi Vasahat, Rane Chal, Nityanand Bagh, Tolaram Vasahat, Sriram Nagar, J. J. Wadi, Sheth Heights, Dongre Park, Tata Colony, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) Colony, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Vasahat, Gawanpada, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation, Tata Power Thermal Plant, Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Varun Beverages.

M West Division: Mahulgaon, Ambapada, Jijamata Nagar, Vashi Naka, Mysore Colony, Khadi Machine, Ramakrishna Chemburkar (RC) Marg, Shahaji Nagar, Collector Colony, Sindhi Colony, Laldongar, Subhashchandra Bose Nagar, Navjeevan Society, Old Barrack and Chembur Cantonment.

The move from the BMC is aimed at facilitating the installation of a new water supply system at Vashi Naka, a crucial infrastructure upgrade that will improve pressure in the water supply network. The repair work involves the installation of a 750 mm diameter culvert at BD Patil Marg, Gawanpada, which is a critical component of the upgraded infrastructure.
