Pune Porsche Crash Is Real Life Jolly LLB: On the morning of May 19, a 17-year-old boy, son of a real estate developer in Pune rammed his Porsche into a bike, which caused the death of two individuals – a man and a woman both 24 years old and were from Madhya Pradesh. The minor accused, who was drunk while driving the car, was arrested by the Pune Police but about fifteen hours later, he was released from jail. The conditions on the basis of which the teenager was released, the way his father tried to evade the police and how his grandfather toiled to make sure his grandson does not go to jail, remind netizens of the Bollywood courtroom drama, Jolly LLB starring Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles. The film is also based on another hit-and-run case and its story is very similar to the key points of the Pune Porsche Accident.

Pune Porsche Crash Is Real Life Jolly LLB?

As mentioned earlier, when the Pune Porsche Crash came into the limelight, especially the way the accused teenager was released from bail, several netizens compared the case to the Bollywood courtroom drama released in 2013, Jolly LLB. The film, starring Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles, is inspired by the Sanjeev Nanda Hit and Run Case of 1999. In the film, a boy from a high-society family is accused of a hit and run case due to drunk driving but is defended in court and is on bail.

Striking Similarities Between Pune Porsche Accident And Jolly LLB

Just like in the Pune Accident was done by a luxury car Porsche, the accident in the film was also done by a luxury car BMW; in the Porsche crash, the 17-year-old minor accused is released from jail on a surety of Rs 7,500 and an assurance from his grandfather to keep him away from bad company, in the film too, the grandfather of the accused (who is not a minor) is seen saying that ‘his grandson must be protected at any cost’ and that ‘he cannot see his grandson go to jail’. In the film, how the family of the accused did all that they could using their power and money to keep their son safe even after the crime he had committed, the father of the accused had also hatched a full plan to evade the arrest and also misled the cops for the same.

In the Pune Car Accident, an FIR was filed by the father of the accused after which, he tried to evade the arrest and escape the police officers by misleading them. The father of the accused first took refuge in the different properties he owned across the city, then used his friend’s vehicle and sent his own vehicle and driver to Mumbai. To avoid being tracked, he switched off his mobile phone and changed his number. The Pune Crime Branch finally found the father in a lodge in Sambhajinagar.
