Dr. Swami Yugal Sharan Meets President of India; Marks 25 Years of Global Spiritual Outreach
Dr. Swami Yugal Sharan met India's President, marking 25 years of global spiritual outreach and his recent doctorate on devotional music's effect on plants.
On 15 October, 2025, a customary visit of Dr. Swami Yugal Sharan, the foremost preacher and disciple of Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj to the Honorable President of India took place in a meeting full of spiritual meaning and symbolism.
The event also fell very near to his Sanyas Diwas on the 17th of October, a day of profound personal importance, 25 years after his guru had given him the mission to preach of Vedic values and devotional wisdom all over the world. Since that time marking event in 2000, Swami Yugal Sharan has been on an ever-present tour of India and many countries in the world.
The endless activity of his work to spread universal spiritual principles based on the Vedas has touched representatives of all layers of society and every age. Swami Ji, through his lectures, satsangs and educative programs, keeps offering ways of connecting the traditional philosophy with modern life issues and encouraging the seekers of their lives to lead a life full of harmony and devotion.
Apart from his spiritual outreach, Dr. Swami Yugal Sharan has also contributed notably to academic inquiry. In collaboration with the Department of Soil Science of Utkal University and Sambalpur University, he conducted an innovative study exploring the impact of devotional music and chanting on the growth and vitality of plants. Completed in 2024, this research earned him a doctorate degree and has been acclaimed for its unique blend of spirituality and science.
The findings draw interesting parallels with the pioneering work of scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose, who first demonstrated the sensitivity and responsiveness of plants to external human influences. Dr. Swami Yugal Sharan’s work extends that legacy by introducing the dimension of spirituality, emphasizing that sound vibrations rooted in devotion may enhance natural growth and life energy.
His meeting with the President served as both an acknowledgment of his research and a reaffirmation of his lifelong dedication to disseminating Vedic knowledge and promoting universal harmony values that continue to resonate across generations and borders.
