Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi Liquor Policy case on March 21. Earlier on that day, a six-member team of the federal probe agency, along with an escort of the Delhi Police, reached his official residence on Flagstaff Road in the national capital for questioning under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

This comes after the Delhi High Court refused to grant protection from arrest to Kejriwal in the liquor policy case.

Arvind Kejriwal will remain under the ED custody till March 28, 2024. The arrest of Kejriwal has evoked a mixed response towards the central agency and the central government.

Sunita Kejriwal on March 23 made a video statement in which she delivered a message on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal in which she said that he was apprehensive of external and internal forces that are weakening the nation. He also said that he will keep every promise made to the people of the nation.
