Aptly quoted by the internationally acclaimed writer, it augments well with all bookworms. All those wistful book lovers can breathe a sigh of relief on the 29th of August. The Delhi Book Fair kicks off on this day after another year. The fair hopes to attract those who love reading as well encourage non-readers to take up the habit. What is exciting is the fact that they will demonstrate just how large the Indian book industry has grown over the decades by displaying nearly 1 lac books, in more than 20 regional languages! There will also be a bountiful display of international books that are sure to make you happy as a clam. One will get to meet publishers, and have a look at periodicals and magazines. Not leave out teachers and professors of various educational institutions, there will be plenty of books, teaching aids and software that they can look into. This fair is a cornucopia for all readers so make sure you take out plenty of time to look at the complete range of books on display.
The fair will be held in Pragati Maidan from the 29th of August till September 6th.
Location: Hall No. 8-12.
Timing: 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Tickets can be bought from gate nos. 1, 2, 7, & 10.
There are ample facilities such as parking, restaurants and snack bars, special facilities for the physically challenged, banks and ATMs and even ambulances are on call.
Access: One can get on the Delhi Metro and get down at the Pragati Maidan station itself or one can opt for cabs, buses, auto rickshaws and private cars to make their way here.
